I’ve moved websites!
My previous domain was averboompainting.com and my new domain is averboomfritz.com
I changed domains for a couple of reasons. I updated my signature this year to include my married name, Fritz, so I wanted a different domain to reflect this change. Plus, I wanted to do a major overhaul to my site anyway, so I figured I’d mind as well update my domain at the same time.
If you’re familiar with my previous site, the new one it doesn’t look that different initially because I used the same Word Press theme for both sites.
But the biggest change that I’ve made is more behind the scenes. I no longer have a WooCommerce store built right into my site. Instead I’ve integrated my inventory software system, Artwork Archive, with my site.
I did this to simply things for me. As a busy mom I don’t have a lot of time to dedicate to my art business, so I am always looking for ways I can simplify things.
In my previous set up I had to enter each new piece into my inventory software, Artwork Archive. This involved uploading the image, recording the name, dimensions, inventory number, painting description, medium, subject, framing details, etc. I would then have to switch to my website, create a new product, upload images and enter all of the same information. It was a big job!
Now, I can just enter everything once onto Artwork Archive and it automatically appears on my site as well. So much easier!
The program also offers a way for customers to purchase a piece or inquire about one, so I still have my online store, it just looks a little different.
Thank you for reading!
